WANT TO SEE JACK THRIVE?

JACK was founded in 2012 in response to the closing of several small theaters beloved by our community. Since opening our doors, we’ve grown and transformed to be responsive to our shifting landscape and the needs of our community.

It’s also the support of our community that keeps us running. You fight with us to carve space for adventurous artists to make work that speaks to our moment - and to push the boundaries of what performance can look like while they do it. You provide a home where individuals from different backgrounds come together, create art, and speak their truths.

With your support we can:

  • Keep the doors open and the lights on.

  • Ensure that our shows are financially accessible by keeping ticket prices low.

  • Support artists in creating the new frontier of art.

  • Bring FREE community programs to fruition.

ARTIST SUPPORT

JACK support goes towards BIPOC artists and those committed to our collective liberation. The work at JACK is always new and allows the artist to build their audience. Many artists have accomplished first milestones of success at JACK: their first evening-length work, their first review in The New York Times, or their first opportunity to have their work seen by presenters. Your donation offers these artists more substantial financial and creative resources when producing their work with JACK.

ARTS & ACTIVISM

Our goal in founding JACK was to create an arts organization with racial equity at its core. This focus has resulted in the curation of series such as Forward Ferguson and Reparations365. Next season we'll be expanding our Reparations365 programming with a conversation series that aims to build solidarity between Black Americans’ movements for reparations and Indigenous peoples’ movements for the return of stolen land in partnership with several other arts and community organizations. Your donation makes it possible to offer these programs for free!

ARTISTS in CoMMUNITY

Partnering with local community organizations and senior centers, JACK fosters relationship-building and artistic opportunities for our neighbors. We weave community engagement into all facets of our programming. 2024 season artists will offer free programming for our neighbors in conjunction with their shows including - public workshops, moderated discussions, performance collaborations, and/or mutual aid efforts. Your donation makes these collaborations possible!
