We at JACK are closely monitoring the developments of breakthrough cases among vaccinated New Yorkers and the rise in cases of the Delta variant among unvaccinated New Yorkers. To ensure the safety of our audiences, we will require all attendees to wear masks while in our space and throughout the performance. We will not allow food and beverage in the space, but we encourage you to check out our neighbors at Hartleys, Xochitl Taqueria, Sisters or Buka before or after the show.

Being & Becoming was formed in 2017 by composer and trumpet player Peter Evans. Evans' compositions for the band draw from a wide variety of sources, traditional and experimental, with a grounding in improvisational idioms, notated concert music and an array of experimental approaches. The band features Joel Ross (vibraphone, percussion), Nick Jozwiak (bass) and Savannah Harris (drums).

Opening sets for each night (beginning at 8 pm):
July 29 - Tim Dahl (electric bass) / azumi O E (Butoh dance)
July 30 - Arun Ramamurthy (violin)
July 31 - Alice Teyssier (flutes and voice)

Evans is one of 500 New York City-based artists to receive $5,000 (for these concerts) through the City Artist Corps Grants program, presented by The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA), with support from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as well as Queens Theatre. The concert is also made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
