Renee Harrison is a Jamaican-born, New Jersey–raised actor, producer, and multi-hyphenate artist whose work lives at the intersection of storytelling, advocacy, and cultural imagination. A natural storyteller, she marries her love of narrative with a deep commitment to empowering underserved voices through intentional, authentic, and creative work.

Renee is the founder and creative producer of Black Girls Do Theater (BGDT) — a social impact organization creating intentional community spaces for Black femme-identifying theater artists. Since its inception, BGDT has collaborated with many of New York City’s leading cultural institutions to amplify the work of emerging artists and expand the presence of Black women and femmes across the theater landscape. What began as a digital archive has evolved into a trusted cultural home that bridges the gap between training and professional opportunity, cultivating community through salons, workshops, staged readings, and partnerships that center artist leadership and collective care.

As an actor, her credits include Law & Order: SVU (NBC), All American: Homecoming (The CW), The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat (Searchlight), and The Winter’s Tale (The New School).

Across all mediums, she is guided by a simple belief: that storytelling, when done with care and courage, can build worlds—and bring us home to ourselves.
