Jomama Jones:
Night Flowers

October 30 - November 1, 2014

The legendary Jomama Jones returns to JACK for Night Flowers – three special, intimate evenings to mark our lengthening nights, and to explore the power of dream and regeneration as the season turns.

The diva will be joined in music, performance, and communion by her band, led by Los Angeles-based musical director Dr. Bobby Halvorson. Each of the nights will feature a different special guest artist, coming from a vast family collaborators who have gathered around Jomama over the years among them the phenomenally gifted young actor/singer Jacques Gerard Colimon, dynamic singer, Rhonda Ross (Oct 30), white-hot theatre artist, Will Davis (Oct 31), and celebrated performance scholar E. Patrick Johnson (Nov 1).

Jomama Jones is the creation of Daniel Alexander Jones, an award-winning interdisciplinary artist, named by American Theatre Magazine “one of the artists whose work would] change American stages for decades to come.” Over the past 20 years, Daniel's work has been presented widely, including his plays Bel Canto and Phoenix Fabrik and his performance pieces Blood:Shock:Boogie and The Book of Daniel. Jomama Jones's show Radiate, was a critics' pick of the New York Times, Time Out New York and Time Out Chicago--it has toured to Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Austin and Boston to sold-out houses. His new musical, Bright Now Beyond, created with Bobby Halvorson and Will Davis premiered in Austin in 2014. Daniel Alexander Jones is a recipient of the Alpert Award in the Arts in Theatre and is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Fordham University in New York City.
