Sweet Victory is a choreographic spell which calls forth methodologies that generate courage and harness life force in dialogue with earth, skies and wind, carving pathways into shared desire. Inspired by the sweetness and healing properties of raw honey, this work is steeped in densely formulated dances of communication along with fugitive actions of ongoing resistance, rebellion and survivance. The trio performance is a utopian practice which harnesses polyrhythmic sounds and gestures of Black Islandness to map liberation movements of queer diasporic Black Futures.
