Steven F. Leffue
Steven Leffue is a Co-Founder of JACK. For the first two years of JACK's existence (2012-14), Leffue ran the space on a day-to-day basis alongside Artistic Director Alec Duffy. Soon after the start of JACK, he launched the music program, ensuring that JACK became a vital space for the experimental music community. He enlisted curator/musicians Michael Foster, Stuart Popejoy, Ron Anderson, Cisco Bradley and others to help program over 30 concerts a year, welcoming such artists as Evan Parker, Mark Dresser, William Parker, Andrea Parkins, Ava Mendoza, Weasel Walter and others. Leffue’s work, alongside these curators/musicians, resulted in JACK being named one of the top five music venues in the city by New York City Jazz Record.
