SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 at 8 pm
As part of our "JACK has a baby grand for a weekend" weekend, JACK joins master improvising pianist Cooper-Moore and writer Carl Hancock Rux.
Cooper-Moore will start with a solo set, followed by a reading by Carl Hancock Rux, followed by a set by the Cooper-Moore Trio:
Brian Price on Woodwinds
Pascal Niggenkemper on Bass
Cooper-Moore on Piano and Multi-Instruments
TICKETS: $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
Cooper-Moore, regarded as “one of New York's most effusive but reclusive musical geniuses” (Salon.com), has been a major presence in the world of creative music for over 30 years as a composer, performer, instrument builder/designer, storyteller, teacher, mentor, and organizer. His recording output consists of over ten albums (solo and with his groups Apogee and Triptych Myth). For the night at JACK, he prepared two sets: a solo performance and a trio set, in which the pianist/multi-instrumentalist will be joined by Brian Price on woodwinds and Pascal Niggenkemper on bass.
